Dartford Primary Academy

St Albans Road Infant and Nursery School joined with York Road Junior Academy in February 2015 to form Dartford Primary Academy. As a 3-form entry primary with a nursery and special needs provision it forms the biggest primary in Dartford - it aims to be the best!

Karen Major, Principal

Dartford Primary Academy is a welcoming, safe and happy school where everyone feels valued and is listened to. We aspire for all children to achieve their full potential in a stimulating environment that both nurtures and challenges them, enabling them to become independent and resilient learners.

High levels of achievement are driven by excellent teaching and learning and a consistent approach to behaviour management using our ‘Green to Go’ system across the whole academy.

Dartford Primary Academy supports children with a range of Special Educational Needs in either the main school or within the resource provision known as the Star Centre.  The wider teaching team is supported by Director of Inclusion, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Assistant SENCO, Family Liaison Officer (FLO) and specific behavioural support staff.

Pupils in the main school are catered for with careful planning, quality teaching and support from Teaching Assistants to meet their needs. Dartford Primary Academy also ensures that differentiation is a cornerstone of teaching delivery so that all pupils have the opportunity to progress, irrespective of needs.
