Once we have received your UCAS application we will be in touch to arrange a formal interview with regard to offering you a training place. The following features will be involved in all interviews:
- Copies taken of original documents such as University Degrees, GCSE Certificates and Right to Work in the UK
- Two tests completed lasting roughly 2 hours: English GCSE paper, GCSE paper on your subject and a Maths Key Stage 2 Level 5 standard test (Primary candidates only)
- Formal interview with representatives from Kent & Medway Training, Leigh Academies Trust and the Mentor who you would be working with throughout your training year
- A lesson observation based around your experience (between 15-30 minutes); this may be with a class of students or we may ask you to plan and present your lesson to the interview panel
Please rest assured that all aspects of the interview are designed to assess where your strengths are and identify any gaps where we could provide you with support. All panel members will be familiar faces by the time the interview is conducted and we will provide as much information and notice as possible to assist you in doing the best you can!
You will then find out the outcome of your interview and we can determine those candidates who we will progress with.
